The purpose of this site is twofold. First, to experiment with recreating a medieval 'illuminated manuscript' online. Second, to provide a more effective tool for researchers who are working on The Divine Comedy. To that end, many more functions are in the works for the site, including personal annotations, bibliographies, and more advanced search tools. Suggestions for functionality are welcome.

Dante's voice belongs to the 'great conversation' of all ages, and I would like to see that it continues to be heard.
